My Work
Android & Fullstack Developer | Building Scalable Apps & Services from the EU
15+ years of professional experience—from startups to global brands. Currently CTO at Pixplicity, open to freelance and full-time opportunities.
Current and recent work
As CTO and technical lead at Pixplicity, I’ve spent the last 15+ years building cutting-edge apps and websites that push the boundaries of what’s possible. Specializing in Android and cross-platform development, our team has crafted the first versions of popular apps, collaborated with international artists, and delivered solutions that competitors deemed ‘technically impossible’—reaching over 100 million users worldwide, multiple times over.
My role spans technical leadership, client collaboration, and hands-on development: architecting scalable apps in Kotlin/Compose and Flutter, while bridging the gap between technical execution and creative vision. From sales meetings to sprint planning, I tend to do well in environments where innovation meets pragmatism, using code and common sense to deliver high-impact results.
Most of my work at Pix can be found in this showcase. Personal apps and projects are listed below. Some work also available on GitHub and my personal git.
Personal projects
Drop Authenticator
With over 1 million downloads, a popular two-factor authentication app that competes against Google and Microsoft's authenticators by adding indispensable features. Available for Android and iPhone, security audited by Berkeley.
Compatible with Google Authenticator, but with backups, sharing, and Berkeley-audited encryption. 1M+ downloads.
Noot.
Why settle for a standard note-taking app when you can write your own? Custom made, by me and for me: a to-do list, text editor and journaling app. Completely offline, backendless, yet it syncs to all my devices. 5-star rating and over 1 download(s)!
Stationsklok
A watchface for Android Wear OS smart watches. Completely rebuilt in Watchface Studio for renewed future-proofness. This watchface uses the animations to exactly mimic those of the Dutch railway clocks: the second hand makes its round two seconds too fast and then wait for a synchronisation signal from the 'mother clock'.
Stationsklok watchface for Wear OS
A replica of Dutch station clocks as a watchface for Wear OS.
Legacy projects
Introspect
Introspect is a delightful little tool for Android, that allows developers and enthusiasts to find all the information about their device. It shows you all the useful information you might want to know about a phone or tablet: screen size and density in pixels and dips, your ip-address, OS version and WebKit user-agent. It contains a decibel meter, a signal strength meter, it shows all the details of all the sensors, and it comes with cheat sheets for developers.
With a 4.9 rating, Introspect is available for free in the Play store, for phone and tablet.
BitChess
Started as a personal challenge and excuse to learn C, I wrote a chess engine back in 2012.
