Open source

FindThatFont! is a legacy project that I created half a lifetime ago. It is one of the first programs I released, and open sourced. Even though it’s old (it was open sourced in 2012 when it was already 5 years old), it actually still works well, and is incredibly handy. You can find it on GitHub.

Downloads

Go ahead and download FindThatFont. There’s a Windows and Linux version available. Also: the add-on PreviewBox, which adds a sidepanel with either a full-text preview of the selected font, or a character map.

Tech

FindThatFont! is made in XUL, Mozilla’s XML-based language in which, among many others, Firefox and Thunderbird used to be made. Thanks to the built-in features of XUL, FindThatFont! has an extension manager and allows developers to modify or extend the program with endless many features.
